How it works

What is a park shopper, and how does in-park sourcing work?

By the ParkVault team · Updated

A park shopper is an approved ParkVault member who is at a Disney park and agrees to attempt a purchase for a buyer. It is meant for items that are only sold in the parks, or that no seller has listed yet.

How it works

  • You find the exact item in the catalog and request it, or choose a park shopper's sourcing option on the product page.
  • You approve a maximum purchase cost in advance. A shopper may not go over it without your explicit approval of a revised maximum.
  • Before you pay, you see the item estimate, the shopper's fee, ParkVault's sourcing and protection fee, and tracked shipping.
  • Payment is taken through Stripe. The shopper is not instructed to buy until your payment is confirmed.
  • The shopper buys the item in the park and submits the purchase receipt and a photograph of the item as evidence.
  • The item is shipped to you with tracking, and payouts are delayed until delivery is confirmed.

Who the shoppers are

Park shoppers apply and are approved individually after an identity check by an operator. Their fee is a flat amount set on each option, and it is fixed when the order is created. There is no negotiating and no direct messaging between buyer and shopper.

What availability means

A shopper marking themselves available means they are willing to attempt a purchase inside the window they stated. It is not a claim that the item is in stock. Stores sell out, and sometimes the item is not on the shelf.

If the item cannot be found

If the shopper cannot find the item, the order is closed as unavailable and any payment is refunded through the same payment provider. Refunds and disputes stop completion and payout.

What ParkVault does not do

  • It does not authenticate or grade items.
  • It does not hold your money in escrow.
  • It is not affiliated with The Walt Disney Company.

When to use it

In-park sourcing is most useful for current releases while they are still in the parks. For items that have sold out, a seller's listing on the product page is usually the faster route, and Watch will notify you when one appears.

ParkVault does not authenticate or grade items, and listings are by independent sellers. Prices and counts on this page are read from live listings.
